    Fellas;

    How does (read: will) GCR 17.23.2 read regarding a Snell SA95 safety rated helmet for CY04?

    a not so educated guess is that a Snell 95 is ok for the last time in '04. Standards seem to be updated every 5 years but the helmet use time frame does not seem to disallow a helmet until the 10 have passed, so the obvious conclusion is a '95 is no good in '05......however, this is not what happened in '00.....because the '00 Snell helmets came out finally and very late in '00, 90's were allowed in '00 but not beyond.

    We just had this question on our Regions board. In looking at my 2001 GCR, the SA90 rated helmet was valid through that season.
    "Effective 1/1/02, Snell SA90 helmets will nolonger be permitted (i.e. SA95 minimum)"

    Assuming that the rules are updated consistanly, an SA95 helmet should be good through the 2006 season.
