This car is a Z16 Citation/Zink.

The designer was ED Zink. Citation built the cars.

Recently I have been working on updated parts for the car. In particular, I have done new rear uprights. The new rear uprights are a combination of 2 variations of the original uprights that Ed Zink designed. The big change from his parts is that I built the new uprights around parts that you can buy from a VW dealer new today. The original VW parts that were used for this car are no longer available and from any source. There are after market sources for the same VW parts at prices that are less than the original parts cost. Also the shock can be bolted to the new rear uprights. This results in a significant improvement in the motion ratio for the rear shock.

Currently, I am working on new front rockers that will increase the front track 1" per side and are designed to work with the spec FF diameter tires but restore the original shock static length. This change does involve an easy and optional modification to the frame so that the shock body does not strike the ground. The new rockers also are designed for a lower front ride height which gives an improvement in the front suspension geometry.

The rear suspension changes apply to the Z10 as well. The Z10 and Z16 have the same geometry and chassis pickup points at the rear.

I think all of us with CFs wish our car was supported by the original manufacturer but here's one of the few that is! I'm looking forward to my new parts from Steve and hopefully more CF racing with my Z16!
