    Default Update on June Sprints

FC has a great turn out of 18 cars. The first practice session was held under great conditions. Tim Minor and Michael Varacins topped the time sheet with very impressive laps. The rain arrived shortly thereafter and persisted into the afternoon qualifying sessions. A light rain continued into the SRF3 session which preceded FC/FA however with the large volume of cars on track a dry line was present when we took to the track. One of our FC competitors appeared to have a mechanical issue at the exit of the kink which brought out a full course black flag. Further problems arose when French popped an engine in his RT41 entering T14 on his way to pit lane. Qualifying resumed after those issues were cleared. Varacins popped a staggering time on his last lap putting him on pole. Today's forecast isn't looking very good but Sunday looks great.

A big shout out and thank you goes to Primus Racing. A box full of top shelf FC parts was sent for the group. A random drawing was held and just about everyone present left with a great prize. Please reach out and thank Brad for his generosity!

I try to do only business with Brad. A couple of bucks does not equal the worth of Primus when it comes to supporting us.

    June Sprints day 2

FC miraculously had a perfectly dry race in what was otherwise one of the wettest days at a racetrack I’ve ever experienced. It was such a cool feeling being in the middle of a pack of 19 FC cars going up the hill to take the start! I ended up on the far inside going into T1 after passing the lone FX car in the field and got freight-trained by nearly everyone else on the outside. Gennari ended up in the gravel in Canada Corner on the opening lap but was gone the next time the field went by so hopefully the damage was minimal. Hartley spun in the kink (the kink has not been kind to him this weekend) and Wallschlaeger and Otte pulled to the side of the track seemingly with mechanical issues a lap to two later, bringing out a FCY. The restart was hectic with backmarker FAs now mixed in the FC field. Scharnow and I had some fun back and forth amongst FA traffic before I spent the rest of the race staring at his rear wing. It was nice having a rabbit to chase for the whole race! Presbrey and Hansen were caught out by a wet patch under the Johnsonville bridge and tangled towards the end of the race. A nice 4 car battle between Eade, LeSueur, Scharnow, and myself was brewing right when the checkered flag came out. Somewhere far up the road, Minor won from Varacins and LaRue. Congrats to them!
