Default 2024 ligier js f4 series

The opening rounds of F4 are starting today in New Orleans. According to the flyer that came out, F4 should be on the track at 11:25 AM Central Time.

Can anyone confirm that this will be the first races for the new V4 motors in these cars?

    Default F422

There will not be an official F4 US Championship race at NOLA this weekend. Not enough cars have been delivered (though they are making good progress now)

The JS F4 series is for the older Honda powered cars.

Four of the new cars tested and practiced over the last two days at NOLA in the SVRA formula car group. Two of the cars were basically delivery shakedown runs (Driven by my son Connor Roberts). At least one car will race the rest of the weekend in the SVRA group. Pretty sure the 4th car ran this morning but had other commitments for the rest of the weekend.

The opening round for the F4 US Championship will take place at Road America next month, May 16-19.

Did I miss something or did the scheduled second round last weekend not happen either?

Will this be streamed? If so, can you put a link on here when it comes available?

    Currently expecting around 10.
We're working hard to be ready since we picked up the car a few days ago.

I don't see any events on the schedule to replace the cancelled ones.
What happens with awarding FIA license points when the schedule doesn't meet the FIA "F4 spec" requirements for number of races?
(or am I out of date?)

FIA super license points requirements are for at least 5 events at 3 or more different venues.

We should be good to go.

Saw the Road America results, were the track conditions 'normal'? (i.e. was 2.13 expected or a surprise?)

The Ligier engineer told me the simulator runs showed laptimes in the 2:14 range. Prior to that I expected 2:12's. Quimby got pretty close to that in race 2 earlier today

Thanks. I know the car is heavier than an FC, but with all the hype over the new engine, I thought the car might be quicker than an FC overall. Maybe with some development...

This car is designed to be the 'same' as what is being run in British F4 and other places that run F4 is it not? If that is the case, then the cars are surely subject to inspection and a known parts supply to ensure equality between cars. The British F4 uses a 1.4L Turbo motor. In F4 the power is regulated to 160 HP isn't it? I would be curious what dyno testing and results were required to get this V4 motor to be 'equalized' with the other engines used for F4 in various places.

Yes and yes. FIA F4 is heavily regulated to an "international" spec. Why USA F4 decided they needed a new V4 for F4 while maintaining the Honda for FR is possibly a more murky question than any of us will find answers to LOL
