Wanted To Buy **Looking for a formula super vee**

    Dear Community,

I'm searching for a formula super vee a long time, but i didn't find anything.. Maybe you can help me.
I am very interested in lola, March or Ralt.. should be of the 1978 to 1984.. with vw engine.
Specially the March 78, 79 or the lola t620 also the ralt rt5 are my favourites ! Doesn't matter if the car is in parts or in need of a restoration, it's fine. If you have one of those, tell me!! E-Mail: mueller.nils.991@web.de
Also interested in super vee parts, so tell me if you have something interesting for sale.

    Best Regards
    M.

Just want to make sure, you only want a water-cooled SV. I have a friend that wants to sell his early Caldwell D-10 air cooled SV

THANK YOU for posting those, Dan!

    Note on that second car…

1975 Pro Series champion Eddie Miller was a surrogate dad to me from 1975 until his death in 2021.

His last Super Vee was a Carl Haas-provided T326. Eddie ran the car in 1977 into 1978, after being nearly killed at Indianapolis in 1976 and having the rest of the year off.

In 1978, the Series went to water-cooled. Eddie ran the season opener at Phoenix, still as an air-cooled, and was well outgunned by the new engines though finished decently regardless. His plans were to update to water-cooled for the balance of 1978, but a thriving construction business and lack of fluid cash got in the way, and instead he ran Nationals and Pro Ford in a yellow Lola T440, netting a 4th at the Runoffs in an outdated and mostly-uncompetitive car.

If you Google “Fast Eddie Miller,” my tribute comes up first. It’s also in the Fallen Friends sub-fora here, posted in April, 2022.

To my knowledge, very few T326s made it to the USA. I believe ApexSpeeder Garey Guzman still has one (originally owned by Coloradoan Richard Turner), also in red, and I’d bet an ant farm that the second link above is Eddie Miller’s car… which frankly I would buy right now if known to be our departed friend’s car, and under different circumstances.

IF ANYONE BUYS THIS T326, please contact me.

Default Air Cooled vs. Water Cooled

I raced both the air cooled and water cooled FSVs. For the sheer fun of driving , the air cooled cars are much more comfortable to drive.

The one change I would recommend is that you replace the VW connecting rods. They brake very easily. There is a Chevy connecting rod that will fit in place of the VW part. It is bullet proof.

I second what Steve said. Raced one for 17 years. Most fun racing I have done. And least expensive.

There are Carillo rods available for them, that IIRC are for a Porsche 914-4. And they are absolutely bulletproof as well.

    That T326 has sold.

Bummer, my old friend (and period S/V genius engineer) Ove and I were hot to possibly buy it.
