Looks like my wife will not be working in Flagstaff much longer, so no more weekend's in Flagstaff for me = time and $$ to get back to racing. Vicki Pond is having a new fuel bladder made, last of...
There are rumors of a very significant investment by the tribe (actually their investment group - big business!), looking at who they have hired that could be the plan.

Leaking fuel cell kept me from racing... so since I'd planned the time anyway I went out as an instructor, had no students in the last session (a few could have used one!) so I took my son out for a...
Should have my car running again for April's event, do like this news:

From Hurley Hatch:
For those that have not heard, Bill Stern and his family were killed in a small place accident over the weekend. This article has more information:...
Interesting idea... don't rental car companies have some sort of no race track use these days?
Since I've still not my Reynard back together (lack of time & getting screwed by a supplier who didn't deliver when promised), let me know if you take the Cayman out - just might bring my SLK.
I'd inquired to Elite Engines via E-mail if an order for a light weight Pinto 2.0 steel flywheel could be delivered in time for me to finally re-install my engine Labor Day weekend. I received a...

We had rain last year (or was it the year before?)... showers came & went all afternoon. Watched the clouds coming in over South Mountain, decided it would clear by our race so I opted for slicks....
Fantastic turnout!

Lot's of fun & close racing - great EFF turnout :checkered:. New spec tire for EFF is much faster, more stable - basically a D.O.T. race tire.

Can't tell by your pictures... but what I did in my Reynard was to remove a small horizontal non-structural square tube that the dash and steering shaft mounted on, shorten and moved the dash panel...
I plan on being there for Saturday only, would be more the happy to offer any help.
Not me... looked to be just too hot so I passed (I ran 1 weekend a few years ago when it got to 105 ambient :(, way to hot for our cars!). Got Inde again on Memorial Day week end, hope to make it....
[quote=marshall9;300243]Federal 595's in 13 inch, shaved is the new official tire for the EFF series. quote]
Cool :p !
Sounds like you've got the right idea, on track to have some fun. Both the West & East tracks @ Firebird are great learning tracks, Not too fast, room to pass (or be passed) and close to home. No,...
Personally and from some of the comments I've heard from a few running EFF the use of street radials is part of the lure of the class. Way different driving style then racing tires, also what most of...
Should be an interesting race on Sunday... forecast is for 90 F (no big deal for us in AZ), but PM winds of 25 MPH!!
Cool video, hope they do it again next year... if so I plan on being there.
Hmmm, Easter weekend may make it difficult to get away - but maybe on Saturday (wife may not like it ).
A sailor? You should come out.... sailing on a windy lake holds my attention just as much as racing in the rain :p. Grew up racing sailboats, then discovered cars and did both, then just cars. One of...
FV, FST, FC, FM, FA (and just about any other open wheel car!) are also welcome. Lot's of track time, great group of drivers and organization.
Good turnout on Saturday - 8 EFF's. Weather was a bit nasty, blowing wind / dirt in the morning, then it started to rain at the end of qualifying. I'd decided not to run my FC because it's in need of...
Was a great weekend - temp in the 70's with light wind... plenty of sunshine. Excellent turnout in the EFF class (Formula Ford on a spec street radial) with 8 cars, 2 FV and 1 FC. Hopefully we'll see...
Our 2011 season starts next weekend, schedule is available here:

Great low key series, check us out if you are in the Arizona area.
ProAutoSorts ran the "new" combined Firebird & Bondurant tack last weekend - about 3.5 miles long. Temp was well over 100 F so I was kind of glad I couldn't run, turnout was small but we mounted my...
Not really... we are dealing with a venturi (the choke) which speeds up the air and creates low pressure to draw the fuel in, the throttle plate is the flow restrictor. Ever run 40 & 45 DCOE's on a...
The 32mm & 36mm are the throttle bore size, so a 32/36 can actually flow more air then a 32/32. Here's a pretty complete listing of Ford's that use Weber carbs directly from Weber's 1977 edition:
Jeff - Looks like you had a good close race with a FM :p:

From what I can see on Sunday there was 1 FC, 4 EFF, 3 FM, 1 Roadster and 1 FST,...
I'd have dig through some old Weber info... but as I recall a DFM has the primary & secondary reversed compared to a DGV, the DFM is also 32mm on both the primary & secondary, the DGV is 32mm primary...
No idea, haven't had time to take it apart yet (need to ASAP). Very strange, no grind, tried with & without clutch (I usually up shift without and downshift with). Shift lever just stopped when going...
I was out for just Sunday May 2nd, we had a good turnout in the Yellow group - 2 FC, 5 EFF, 2 FV/FST, 2 Roadsters (run as CSR) and 3 Legends for a total of 14 cars. Jeff Watson was in a class of his...
Foam in my cell is in 3 pieces, in other words each piece takes up a 1/3rd of the cell. My fuel filler neck is such that I could insert a fuel resistant hose that is about 1" ID between 2 pieces of...
The Yellow Group had a pretty decent turnout, I was out as a spectator :( on Saturday only and saw 5 EFF's, 1 FST, 1 Atlantic, about 3 Thunder Roadsters & a few Legends (yes, they run with us ;))...

Formula car count was poor - 3 FF, 1 FC & 1 FB. Kind of sad to see...
Wow! That is impressive to say the least. Reminds me of the old days at Riverside in Calif.
Thought about a Toyota MR2 at all? Mid engine should make it feel for like a "real" race car ;). Other then that a Porsche 911 or Boxter would come to mind. I used to race BMW's... nothing compared...
