Keith- I am working on getting us the CDOC discount + the H/D goodies. We will see. :)

I called CDOC to check with Jamie and was told that he no longer works there. I was then transfered to a person there who has had this group buy dumped in his lap. He will review the posts here and at the DSR Forum and promised to call me tomorrow with the best deal he can do. I suggest anyone who has not sent their money in wait until the latest details are finalized.
Stan
Stan if you would like to take over on this, be my guest. Otherwise Jamie has been dealing w/ Mark at CDOC for us and I have been working w/ Hans directly. I assure you, we are all over it.
On edit-
Stan is right about not sending $$ yet. We just need a final #, and sizes.
Hopefully we are able to get both offers (free stuff and $949). We do already have the $949 deal and the list of names was sent to CDOC. Everyone calling CDOC/ Hans/ whoever will only confuse this situation as Stan found... He talked to someone other than Mark. Once everything is finalized we will let you know when to send the $$ and to whom at CDOC.
Ok Stan? ;)
Please believe me that I'm not looking to take over anything.
I was merely following the instructions you posted this morning on the DSR Forum, and decided to check with Jamie to see if I needed to send my helmet in with the check...only to be told that he didn't work there any more. After about 30 minutes I finally spoke with someone else who told me he'd been handed the job. My only suggestion is that we let CDOC sort out who's on first and give us a final, no-ifs-ands-or-buts offer before sending money.
That way nobody ends up with egg on their face.
You got it! :)
Oh yeah, I'm in for a 30ME.
Ok bud.
I'll fix the post on the other site.
 :D :p :) ;)
Sorry eye. Its fixed.
Here is the final deal...

CDOC will sell us the devices for $949 w/ free install & free shipping.
Hans is supplying an extra set of helmet anchors and colored padding for free!

1st 11 orders (of 30ME- this is what CDOC has in stock) will get the devices faster but w/o the extra anchors or colored padding.

I would like to request that everyone involved applies a CDOC sticker to their car as a way of thanking CDOC for the support.

Mark (CDOC rep) will post here tomorrow w/ the details about how and when to send in your $$. He will hold the checks until they get the min number required for our group purchase... so don't delay! People who say yes then do nothing get slammed by me on this board. ;)

Now I have to go back to work!

Sweet!
Sean, Jamie and all involved,
first off I want to say thank you for all the leg work being done.
I am on the list as a maybe, but if this deal goes through I will be a yes.
I am not in a rush as I also need to buy a new helmet.
a question for all,
I now wear a bieffe helmet with the chin spoiler, and it seems to interfere with a friend’s device that i tried on.
I am a 17" neck which seems to fit into the 30 med, but wouldn't mind if someone with same neck size who actually has worn one commented on what size they have. Also, what type of helmets do you use? Before my bieffe I wore a simpson in my FF with no chin spoiler or rear upper lip, seems like it would work, but when I wore that helmet in my 95 VD FC it was VERY uncomfortable from the wind pushing and lifting, to the point I only wore it that one time. I think i will need a helmet that at least has some type of spoiler at the upper rear. anyone have this problem, what helmet did you use to solve?
thanks all
len amato
Sounds great!
I love spending money.........!
sticker?............no problem
STICKER!?
I'll have to talk with my agent... ;)
Does one need quick disconnect tethers to be able to attach the Hans, helmet, connect belts, etc, all by yourself. I like to do my 'getting in the car routine' all by myself. Can one get in the car, place the hans on, connect the belts, put on the helmet, and then attach the tethers to the helmet with the standard tethers, or do you need the quick disconnect hardware?
Thanks for any info you guys can provide.
Also thanks for the leg work regarding this deal.

Bill,
Depending on the car, the flexibility of the driver and the like, I would say probably not.
But I have no prayer of getting in the car by myself, HANS or not.
HANS recommends against the quick release tethers in an open car (they can blow in the breezes and become unhooked.
I have seen them and do not think that they would be any less difficult to attach to your helmet when getting in the car than the standard ones.
I can do my standard ones myselt standing outside of the car, but I put my helmet on then get in the car
Steve
I see Jims name (Jim Roberts) under the Westroc banner and we still need to determine size and angle.
We also have another Westroc driver, Corey Collins, and he also needs to be on the list and again we need to determine size and angle.
Looks like all the Reynard guys are buying 30 degree right?? Somebody let me know cause I need to confirm this information with the drivers and then be ready when are ordering.
Thanks
Lynn Roberts
Hi Lynn,
When I drove the 88 Reynard of my former teammate, my 30 deg worked and fit just fine.

Shipping is free to everyone. (they will send it to you)
They (CDOC) said they would do the colored pads if someone absolutely has to have them but would rather keep it all standard so they are not having to order 3 orange, 1 blue, yada yada. Mark said that you really don't see the pads that much anyway as they are under the device. The anchors are reusable so that is not a huge deal.
Just ordered mine!
Mark at CDOC just took my order. Lets get on it guys.... Need to get all the orders in by the deadline to realize the discount.
Thanks for all your work on this Sean.
Gary
Keith.....if eye may interject this thought about waiting......"get 'er done".........elsewise the deal falls apart?
Bill-
I have no trouble connecting or disconnecting the HANS tethers to/from my helmet when I'm strapped into the car. If you can reach your ears, you can handle the normal connectors. They don't come off easily, of course, but they're not difficult to do blind.
I've seen some drivers put on their helmet and HANS before they get in the car, but the helmet restricts my downward vision so much that I prefer to put it on last, after I've checked all the belts, restraints, etc. The HANS tether is about the last thing I do up and one of the first that comes off.
And as others have pointed out, wearing the HANS actually makes the shoulder belts more comfortable... and comforting.
I went to call in my order and wanted to confirm what angle I should use in my '78 Van Dieman. I assumed 30 degree, since that's what everyone's getting, and my ford couldn't be that different. But I measured my seat and got 45 degrees or so, the seat is cupped, so it's hard to know where to measure. Ideas?
Steve
You're supposed to sit in the seat and put a smart level on your chest to see what angle is right for you. A 20 is for a sedan, so that means 20 degrees off vertical or 70 degrees off horizontal. However, when I measured myself, I was always at least 40 degrees off vertical (actually 50 reading on the smart level). But 30 degrees is the norm for all the FM guys that I've talked to, so that's what I just ordered myself.Quote:

OK, I tried on my chest also and got the same sort of result. I did notice that the curve at the top of the seat sort of rolls my shoulders forward to a more upright position. I guess the real key is the angle of your head relative to your chest/shoulders. I feel better now about the 30 being correct. Thanks for the reply.
Steve
but I have a couple of questions. We order from CDOC for the Hans device (30 EM) and send our helmets into them for install and shipping..Correct? Do we also order the color pads, helmet connectors as part of the package at the same time?
All for $949!
----------
CDOC will sell us the devices for $949 w/ free install & free shipping.
Hans is supplying an extra set of helmet anchors and colored padding for free!
----------
Was there not something about a Hans/Helmet bag as well being thrown in on the deal? Who is that ordered through? Same place?
Let me know so I can get my order in and Cal & Christian on the same page. THANKS!
yo shoemaker.....call CDOC 1 - 866 - 390 - 2362 for the HANS deal today or Thursday..........if you call too late on Friday the deal falls apart
Yes, unless you want to do the install yourself, which is pretty easy.Quote:

To those who have placed their order. Please post a note to that effect here....how else do we all know how this deal is going? If CDOC gets only 11 orders by late Friday because some decide to not do it at this time.....[because carnut's post on Oct 11th at 12:55 lists the details of the deal - read the post]......the final cost is not 949 but rather 999.....and the cost goes up if the count is only 8. So do a favor to the community here and post your having ordered please. It will behoove us to have a running count IMHO.....it may motive others. Thanks
Will do eye, I just placed my 30ME order.
Steve
Just ordered mine.
Made my order this morning.
Thanks to everyone for their info and for making this deal happen.
Just phoned in my order for a 30ME...I am number 20!
Hans ordered up, I was number 10 at about 9:00 this morning.
Richard L
Yep, Mark confirmed that we have met the # so the lowest price applies!
Good job everyone!!
Ah Sean........i had to post this here rather than at the joke thread...thnaks for breaking your neck on this one........Ah what the heck, eye owe you a steak dinner too
Bad choice of words Eye, but it's good to see everyone starting to make a move in the safe direction.Quote:

Just gave them my info... Deal is still pending info on an extra set of anchors since the padding color doesn't matter much to me.
Just got confirmation back from Bob at CDOC and there is no deal for the extra anchors and color padding at the current price point for the group buy. I'll still probably go through with it, but it does take back from the 'deal'.
Thanks again Sean. Just finished faxing back HANS release form & talking with Mark at CDOC. He indicates their beginning shipping immediately at the lowest quoted price. Nice job everyone!
You all have ordered one. In the end that is the most important piece of the puzzle. How you get to that point isn't really very important is it?
My bad.........
BTW, I like saving money too, but I have this terrible thing about when I decide I need/want something, I but it. Price isn't much of a consideration at that point.
No, I'm not a car salesmans dream come true!
I'm looking forward to helping my friends Gary and Jim get thiers fitted at GIR in October.
Once you use one you'll feel naked without it!
Humbly yours,
Bryan
I want in on this deal too :)
Unfortunately the toll free number for CDOC doesn't work up here in the Great White North.
Must be some sort of interference with the igloos.
Does anyone have another number for them or can I do this deal online at their site?
MikeT
