I’m considering getting into a vintage formula ford. Problem is I’m about 5’9” and 215 lbs with pretty wide shoulders. Of the cars eligible for historic FF racing, which ones (if any) have a decent amount of room?

Any of the true vintage cars can probably accommodate you. Of course try sitting in one before you buy. Tweener CFs maybe, too.Quote:

Come out to RA in July for the 55th anniversary race and check out a LOT of vintage FFs. Probably the best opportunity for you to look at the various makes in one place
Pretty much any club Ford will fit you just fine. Some of the pre 72 cars can be very tight and may have lower rollbars making it tough to get yourself low enough to meet the 2"rule.
Crossle 30 series and VanDiemens between 77 and 81 will fit you easily.
I’m 5’9 weigh 220 with wide shoulders and get in a Crossle or DB-6 just fine with no seat.
Don't overlook the Zink Z10s. They were in production from 1973 through 1978. There were about 85 cars built. And those cars won many national and divisional championships.
To this day I miss my Z10 - they are great cars, sturdy, easy to work on. And fast. Just a great choice.Quote:

Thank you all for your responses. I've done a little research and it seems like the '77-'81 Van Diemens are a good beginner car with good parts availability.
Of course I'm not ruling out any of the others.

There are lots of good cars that will fit your criteria. Limiting yourself to one brand is a mistake. IMHO.
Buy the nicest car you can find and enjoy it.
