I am wanting to run a small Kubota dynamo with a regulator/rectifier,
and use this to charge a Lithium Iron battery. Has anyone done this and is there
any special charger/device needed to accomplish this?

I tried a LiFePO4 Antigravity battery with the stock Kubota dynamo and regulator. The battery failed after 3 weekends, but I can't attribute it to whether it just wasn't up to the rigors of racing or the charging system. A little bit of post failure research led me to this adapted motorcycle regulator for Li-ion batteries, but I wasn't willing to risk the investment in another battery and the regulator to find out....Quote:

I did, on my FE. The original FE had a dynamo and I ran a 2.2# BatteryTender LiFePo4 for two years without issue, and then another two years after conversion to FE2 with an alternator. Even with the dynamo it kept the battery sufficient charged that I usually didn't bother plugging in the charger all day on a test session. I did overnight out of habit, but probably didn't need to. I did buy their multi use charger, with selection for Pb or Li.Quote:
