Roebling notes
Just got back from Roebling Road and wanted to give a thank-you to the workers for keeping things going in the brutal heat. We had a visit from friends in the department of "errors in judgement" [flat-tow division], and their dog. Fortunately, I managed not to give them any work over the weekend. The folks on the corner stations were much appreciated, as always, but even more so in the heat. [I managed to "entertain" them a few times, without requiring them to come to my aide, but it's nice knowing they'd be there if I had.] Also wanted to give a big thanks Alan and Pat Oppel, who we paddocked with, for their help through the weekend [and the magic Oreos], Really nice people, if you need pit services for a race weekend, I'd recommend giving them a call, Last but not least, a thank you to the V-driver who ended up off road when I spun. Thanks for being so kind about it, even though it cost you a win. And of course, thanks for missing me! All-in-all, a fun weekend, some earned and some gifted trophy's, and home in one piece. I hope everyone else had fun too.

People will say I'm biased because I live here, but Roebling, (and more importantly the people that run it), is a great, very under-rated facility.
Don't let the perception of heat here put you off, it isn't that bad :D

Didn't mean to disparage Roebling with the "heat" comment. It was hot EVERYWHERE last weekend. Roebling is a great track. I love the flow, the shaded paddock, the ability to actually see a lot of the action on track from the paddock, and I love the fact that you can have an "error in judgement" and usually lose nothing but track time. And yes, the folks that run it are top-notch. And sometimes, old friends drop by, which is pretty cool too.

Agree, RRR is pretty great. Repaved just last year, I believe. Lots of great aspects to it, especially if you can squeeze in a visit to Historic Savannah.
One of my really favorite parts is a half test day (Friday afternoon) is 1/2 cost ($100) of a full test day. AFAIK, only Rd Atl and RRR do that.
(Not a serious comment:) I wish they'd build a bridge or tunnel so you don't have to wait for an empty track to get into the paddock. :-)

Hey moderators, why does typing a smiley face get changed to a “?”
I’ve had to edit numerous times to eliminate the “?”
thx
