Although I owned a Lotus 61 and a Lola T440, I am curious as to where exactly can the car be raced, if anyone would be crazy enough to track it?
IIRC, the historic and vintage clubs limit cars manufactured in the very early 70s, say 1972. And SCCA requires the main roll bar to be modified with two forward facing supports (never an option for this car).
Just curious, or is this car simply a museum piece?

the car was primarily raced at Blackhawk Farms and Road America.

My first FF was a Zink Z-10 and I have a picture of me on the false grid at Road America. The T342 was just ahead of me on the grid (I would guess that this was 1984 or 1985) I always loved Lola's so went to look at the car.
I noticed the dash plaque and said to myself, "Someday I'm going to own that car".
I purchased it Dec 27, 1995 I am the 4th owner
it was a long term restoration project for me
shortly after it was new, the owner painted it black the original "Bass Boat Gold" was under that paint when I got it
the body was replaced by a new body from TW Moldings using the original factory molds.
I have a lot of documentation that accompanies the car. It has been a fun journey!
Care to post the photo of you behind it on the RA grid? Might that be a Midwestern Council race? When Steve Prando owned the car, and I took care of it for him? Inquiring minds want to know.

I just wanted to share a cool update on the 1000th Lola, I had sold it, and its been resold again and is headed back home!
Home, as in it is destine to be displayed in the new Lola Factory back in England
I sold three of my Lola's and each one has been a fun adventure, but this one tops the others!
I'm hoping to get to see it on display someday!

I saw this car in print at least, in the day… Pretty sure it was in Formula Magazine? Or was it SportsCar?
I visited Haas a few times in that era, too. Seems it was up front in the showroom, but hard to say 49 years on.
Very cool car. Plus several friends ran T340/42s then, including one becoming the only Lola to ever win the Runoffs… I think.
Fitting it goes home, and is near Eric and all the builders again.
I don't remember the driver's name, but I had this car when I instructed at a Chicago Region driver's school in ~ 1980. He was very afraid of damaging the car and never actually got up to speed.

the car was in Autoweek, In a strange event, many years ago, someone came up to me at Road America and gave me a copy!
I don’t remember who it was.
and Yes, the car was displayed in Carl Haas showroom (a picture of it was in the Autoweek article). At the 50th Lola anniversary event up at Road America, Carl was there and we attempted to recreate that photo).

I thought I'd add post an update to this car to this thread. It's on display at the NEC in Birmingham at Autosport International. The current plan for the car is to go over the whole thing and bring it back to working order for events.
