Clutch issue
I have a new to me 1978 Argo JM2 Super Vee that I'm preparing to race soon.
The original factory paper work that went to the owner states the car has a .70 clutch master cylinder.
This car now has a .75 clutch master cylinder and a .75 clutch slave cylinder.
The problem I'm having is the clutch peddle is extremely firm with a short throw.
I'm told by the previous owner its a VW clutch and pressure plate with about 10 races on it.
Is this normal ? Any suggestion to soften the peddle ?
Thanks Tom

Normal slave cylinder size was 7/8".
Longer pedal, less effort.

It's the ratio of the cylinder piston areas. You're at 1;1 now.
The .875 slave will reduce force by ~26%
Going to a .625 master will reduce force by ~30%
Doing both reduces force by ~49%
...all with correspondingly longer travel, more progressive feel.

Thanks Keith and Bob,
I'll make the changes to the master and slave cylinders.
