Blackhawk major

Congrats to Nicho Vardis on winning both FB races at the Blackhawk Majors this weekend. It was his first time at Blackhawk.

Saturdays race was in pouring rain. Not only had he not raced there before.....but this was his first rain race in his JDR F1000....so it was great to see him win the race overall in the rain (against some fast P1 and FA guys).

Sundays race was dry. Nicho started 1st in FB (second overall)....and finished there. He did pass Jason Miller (P1) at one point for the overall lead....but could not keep up with him on the straights....so couldn't hold the position.

The track was a bit slow judging from everyones times, so no chance of a track record. Loshak owns that.....in a JDR.

Nicho has been itching to claim some track records. He and Tyler Thielman (also in a JDR)battled for the record at Gratten, Gingerman, and Michigan last year....and they were within a tenth or so of each other.....and Nicho was sometimes faster in qualifying....but Tyler claimed the record at all 3 of those tracks....lowering them a ton. Nicho was not a happy camper.

Nicho is looking forward to running against Alex Mayer (who has several track records in his JDR)......to get a really food measure of himself.
