Man that must be one trick FC car?
First off, I will add my congrats to Mark; joining the 200+ club is quite an achievement!
Second, following the supplied link to the photo's page, I took interest in one particular streamliner. From the address posted on the car, I learned it was the "Worlds Fastest Diesel":

Got to get to Bonneville someday...This stuff is just to cool...
Folks on the east coast can go to Maxton NC for East Coast Timing Association (http://www.ecta-lsr.com/) events. Similar in concept, but run on a airport runway.Quote:

I think he also drove a car built by all-female students with a non-turbo Ecotec that I think also challenged for a record. He was busy!
The New York Times has a story on Bonneville and mentions Mark Dickens. It also describes a Freightliner that reaches 220 mph, with an engine transplant!
About Mark -
"Diesel was not the only alternative fuel at Bonneville this year. Mark Dickens, a General Motors engineer, set several class records driving Chevrolet Cobalt SS coupes; one (reaching 156 m.p.h.) was the first to be powered by an E85 ethanol blend." The story is at the following URL, but it might not open (may be for subscription only): http://www.nytimes.com/2006/09/10/au...s/10SPEED.html
