I suspect its Sunoco 112 leaded fuel (currently spec'd by NASCAR)
Road America does indeed use Sunoco, or atleast has for the last 4 years that i have been there. Pumps are credit card access.
We all need to thank Rob Klein at Liberty Motorsports for getting this approved.

Just talked to Scott Sanda and there was a typo, the spec fuel will be Sunoco 110 leaded.

We use AVE Gas here, its between 105 and 120 octane, depending how fresh it is, the Formula Toyotas were useing unleaded 96 fuel, and Motor Sport NZ is trying to get us to use unleaded, but that would lead to a lot of problems I think, you don't see aircraft useing it do you!

I just wanted to make everyone aware that there is an error in the Supps for the Sprints.
The Supps say 112 octane, but the track really has 110 octane sunoco blue. We will be correcting the Supps at the event to match reality.
The track also used to have 100 octane unleaded, but decided to go with 98 this year, so we are playing catch up on a number of things.

Thanks for the official correction Scott! We'd also like to thank the work you and Rob Klein did in getting this done. It's brings the "Have's and Have Not's" closer together in competition.

Roger (NZ) the higest octane AVE Gas we can get here is 100 Octane -Low Lead. The low lead part is not to accurate as it still has quite a lot of lead in it. It works good up to about 10.5 to 1 compression. If we could get 105-120 Octane AVE Gas here it would be nice!:D
AVGAS octane does not directly correlate to MOGAS AKI or octane. Different testing methods.
And there is a move towards 96UL (Unleaded) for aviation gasoline in the US (and Europe). Most light aircraft were originally designed to run on either 80/87 (red) or 91/96 (blue), not many light aircraft needed 100/130 (green). The 91/96 formula was replaced with the 100LL (also blue), and the 100LL eventually replaced the 100/130 (green) also. The 96 UL is 100LL without the lead.
115/145 (purple) was used by the military and airlines for the high HP engines. Someone makes a batch each year for the Reno air races.
We confirmed that the fuel is 110 Octane at RA this past weekend.

Well, this went fantastically! Where do I sign up to have track fuel for every National event? How do we get this again for next year's Sprints? Does anyone know if they tested fuel for those who were impounded?
AFAIK, they just tested Niki (1st place). My fuel didn't get tested.
We were pitted at the impound area, during practice and qualifying they impounded 3 cars each session at random. My first thought was that OH OH somebody was in trouble but then seen them taking fuel samples. I don't know who was checked.

Rob, what did you do to get this pushed through and in the supps? A couple of us FF guys thought a gentlemans agreement was sufficient...wrong. Just curious if it was a big deal.

You guys in the US can't change your ECU maps??? Is that correct? How did the engines take the 110 if it was mapped for 99?
I would be interested to hear if anyone felt any real performance difference?
I have been thinking of changing fuel but been told you need to play with the advancment and maps to work well which could be a pain
