FT200 layshaft gear ratio splines are 1.160 / 1.010 id, .650 wide, 6 splines. Pinion shaft gear bearing surface 1.849. DGB gear is 1.247 / 1.405, .705
Very common with mobile phone cameras. Despite all their technology, they are still nowhere near as sophisticated as the human 'Mark 1 Eyeball'!
The logical reason for moving the rack away from the front would be to make it less vulnerable in an impact. Also it gives the steering arms more protection
Gary, I had an MSD 6AL last exactly 1-1/2 weekends on my Zink Z10 using a motorcraft dizzy with an accel point and condenser set from a Ford V8.
Measuring the center to center of the 2 shafts is helpful as well. A close estimate can rule out certain gearboxes
