This is what I have on the AIM. IIRC, the AIM tach amp blows up if the battery voltage drops below 10V while cranking. I didn't even Zener clamp it.

I run Carbotech and have not tried anything else that works better, but I do hear that KFP's are also very good. So, IMO, it's a personal choice between
