Default "Barn" Fresh Formula Vee Chassis

    Hi
I have owned this chassis since 1993 and its time for it to go. Either I'll sell it or scrap it for the steel. When I bought it I was told it was a 1968 Autodynamics, but after sending Ray Caldwell pics, he said it was a good clone, but he didn't make. The log Book is out of Kansas, as far as I can tell, it was auto crossed in the late 80's with a 1600cc engine.
it has a roll bar # of 30-119. There is a white body that was on it, when I got it and a blue Autodynamics rear section that came as a spare. If you are looking for a good project this is it.
Selling for $650 O.B.O. includes Log book, and all body parts.
I'm in Cincinnati, and this would need to be pciked up, I can not ship it.
Please PM with your e-mail address if you are interested. I have more pictures I can send.
    Thanks

Since this car is a clone, would it be accepted in vintage racing?

    Thanks!

    Mark

p.s.: How are you suspose to see over the front roll hoop?

    Default Why not

    Mark,

Prep it to monoposto rules and my bet is that they (VSCDA) will be happy to take your entry money. There are a few clones of era cars that run in vintage currently.

    Bill,

Just wondering since it would be a shame to do all of the work to get it race worthy
and not be able to race it...Thanks!

Just thinking maybe it's based on an early Formcar? The front of the chassis and roll hoop look very much like a few early ones (1965) I've worked on...

    Lawrence,

I would think that the front roll hoop would be a distraction and probably not original?

    Interesting project!

Definitely not orig. Probably updated for the front roll hoop/broomstick rule. Take that away, add some roll hoop braces, replace the rear shock mounts, weld in the rear frame upper cross member and you have a 1965 Formcar chassis.

    Default FV

Interesting that you think its a formcar copy, the log book calls it a Autodynamics.
Any one interested in buying it? Let me know
    Thanks

Too bad shipping isn't an option. I am looking for such a chassis for an autocrosser.

Let me see what some quotes come back as. While I wouldn't expected it to
be crated, would you be able to mount it to a pallet?
What might a safe estimate for weight be?

    Default weight

I estimate the weight to be about 175 with a wood pallett probably 200lbs and it measures 10' 5" long and 3' wide about 3.5' tall.

    Default NO Shipping

Decided I'm not going to deal with the shipping too many people who have flaked out about the shipping, so If you want it let me know. If its not goning to be recycled as scrap steel around May 15. Don't want to do it but it's gotta GO!
I may trade for a couple of sets of Good Vintage FV Grooved/treaded tires and rims Let me know what you have.

Just a thought; does the chassis have a number plate welded to it on the RF top square tube? It would be about 2-1/2" long and about as wide as the tube it's welded to (3/4"?)
If we were closer to you it would be here...

    Sorry
No tags welded to the square tube, I have looked over every inch, the only numbers are the ones stamped on the roll hoop the 30-119
