Default Race Shops around Laguna Seca/odd request

I frequent a RV forum and stumbled upon a gentleman from Santa Cruz that has to lay down when he's driven about. He's just purchased a class A RV.

He's looking for someone who could adapt a racing harness to his needs. I was going to send him to shops around Laguna or the central Valley - I know Oergel is in Fresno and Porter south of there. I suppose Sears would be another option.

Suggestions?

Default Some creativity needed

Off the top of my head, I'd guess that would have to be a one-off harness design and not something even close to DOT approved restraints? If so, he needs someone who can create the best (safe while comfortable) design which might be better than adapting a racing harness.

One good option may be a master parachute rigger who makes or repairs parachute harnesses. If this makes sense, I'd suggest he go talk to the folks at http://www.skydivemonterey.com/ in Marina. They can hook him up with a creative rigger who will comfortably hook him up.

Default Canepa Design

Have him call Bruce at Canepa design, in Scotts Valley. Perhaps they will help him, they can design, engineer & fabricate something like that. 831-430-9940

Default

it turns out you can get a note from your doctor that provides an exemption from DOT requirements and liabilities, so he's good to go there.

I hadn't thought of a parachute rigger - that's good input. We have a couple of greybeards here on base that designed the escape system for the shuttle and the landing system for some of the mars landers.
