Default Tripod lube question?

A quick question - I have new tripod joints to put into my car, along with a really nice little joint lubing tool and a tube of GKN tripod lube. Here's the problem: The lube tool has a normal grease fitting, but the grease tube appears to be more like a caulk tube than a normal grease tube. It has a thread for a nozzle, not an opening to fit into a grease gun.

Anybody else tried to use these things together? Is the tripod lube tool just basically worthless with this lube?

I load the grease into a mini grease gun and then use the tripod fitting Marshall.

Marshall.

On the very top of the fitting where the ball is.
Touch this part with a small grinder . This will allow the ball and a small spring to pop out.

Home Depot sells small clear tubing , slip this over the pointed end on the grease cartridge.
and push the other end over the grease fitting.

Thanks Jeff.

We sell a bunch of those tools....and grease.
That seemed to be the best solution.

The least messy that is..

The one we have does not have a grease fitting. It has an opening big enough for the tube from the caulk gun to fit in it. Must be a different tool.
