FIRMAN WEST CARS LLC SIGNS ON AS EXCLUSIVE WEST COAST DEALER FOR THE RFR F1000
Norwich, England (April 2, 2009) - Firman West Cars LLC has signed with Ralph Firman Racing of Norwich, England as the exclusive West Coast dealer for the new Firman Formula F1000 race car.
Firman West Cars is a partnership formed by Nicholas Belling and Thomas Copeland specifically to establish a leading presence in the burgeoning Formula 1000 club car class. Both Belling and Copeland have long standing ties to the club racing community. Together they have more than four decades of experience in a wide variety of formula cars from Formula Ford to Formula F1000. “After extensive F1000 research and a direct experience in this exciting class, Firman’s quality standards made the decision to represent the RFR F1000 a simple choice.” A veteran F1000 racer himself, Belling comments.
With the iconic Ralph Firman at the helm, Ralph Firman Racing brings a fresh, new, and innovative ground up design approach to race car construction. The result is an exacting, high-performance, purpose built F1000 race car. Its design capitalizes on 30 years of Van Diemen’s extensive experience in engineering, aerodynamics research, and a highly evolved quality controlled construction process. The design specifically meets the SCCA F1000 guidelines for the North American club racing market.
Firman West Cars have welcomed the opportunity to build upon the RFR racing brand for Western USA & Canada. “This will be an excellent time in the industry’s evolution to grow the F1000 class with a sophisticated and affordable high performance club race car,” says Copeland.
Formed in 2008, Ralph Firman Racing was set up with the club racing enthusiast in mind. As one of the principle founders of Van Diemen, Ralph Firman has had a long and distinguished history of success building racing cars for a worldwide market. His car designs and innovations in the motorsport world have withstood the testament of time by maintaining sales leadership in club racing in multiple car classes for more than three decades. Now Firman and his support team bring their considerable expertise to the F1000 racing class.

Firman West Cars will be campaigning the Firman RFR-009 F1000 cars at SCCA national events as well as other selected race meets along the West Coast of the USA and Canada. Race venues are being created which include events in Arizona, California, Nevada, Oregon and Washington state as well as events in British Columbia and Alberta in Canada.
In addition to sales and actively campaigning in F1000, Firman West Cars will provide race rental opportunities in the RFR-009 as well as reasonably priced session testing opportunities for potential customers
