Because we don't have and probably won't need a stand-alone Classified section for solo cars, the best thing to do is have ONE post here that will contain any and all classifieds (sales and wanteds) for hittin' cones. If anyone is looking for anything specific, you now have a place to shop.
For Sale: Custom Built A-Mod Racecar: Columbus, Ohio $3750
For Sale: Custom Built A-Mod Racecar: Columbus, Ohio $3750
I am selling my custom-built A-Mod racecar w/ spares. This car was built in 2001 by an engineer for Pontiac and has been primarily used as an autocrosser. The original builder intended to use a GSXR 1100cc motor, but put the 600cc engine in for initial chassis testing. This motor is still in the car, but a GSXR 1100 motor will bolt right in. I am the 4th owner. Previous owner purchased car for an F1000 conversion but bought an F1000 instead after he had bought this car. I am selling the car to focus on karting. Too much racing on my plate for this car to get any TLC.
The car:
- Weight: Approx. 650 lbs
- Peak HP: 87 at 10,500 RPM
- Custom-built mild steel frame
- Powered by a 1992 oil-cooled Suzuki GSX600F Engine
- F/R Pushrod suspension w/ 3-way adjustable coilovers
- F/R 13x9 wheels w/ 22x9-13 Hoosier R25As
- Tires are well worn, you may want new sneakers before the autoX season
- Cockpit adjustable brake bias
- Tachometer w/ shift light
- Oil temp and pressure gauges
- Hubs, knuckles, and braking system from latest gen. Toyota MR2
- Kirkey aluminum seat
- Front wing mount (no wing, just mount)
This car is seriously fun to drive. I have not been able to drive it much b/c I recently moved to Ohio. I took it to a local kart track in late November to get some seat time in the car and have some fun. I turned about 30 laps in the car with no problems all day. The engine starts, runs, and idles fine. No major problems. It has a small oil leak from the crank cover. The crank cover is bent from when it was in the donor bike.
Spares/Extras (This is from memory, I will confirm when I get back to Ohio next week):
- 7 unmounted Hoosier and Goodyear slicks (varying sizes and use)
- F/R Pushrods w/ rod ends
- 1 Halfshaft
- Two rocker arms
- Oil cooler
- Lots of wheel studs and lug nuts
- Wheel spacers
- Speed chart that I made in Excel
Price: $3750, Contact me at DOgburn (at) gmail (dot) com for questions.

You may want to talk to Dennis Grant. He has many years of experience working with and setting up dampers, and has a good understanding of what an autox car needs. He could probably recommend someone that has an understanding of the unique challenges of tuning a chassis for autox.

Nationally Competitive F-Mod Red Devil F440 $4000 w/ trailer and spares
Any questions please ask!
Up for sale is the Kawi-Powered 1987 Red Devil I’ve been driving and developing since 2009. I rescued it from a barn in Texas in March of 2009 and I’ve been busy fixing and tweaking to make it go faster ever since. It will officially be for sale after Solo Nationals this year 9/7-9/10. It will also feature a diffuser in its nationals trim.
The car has been thoroughly gone through, with changes made to both the front and rear suspension, including adjustments to the rear roll center to improve handling. The car came with a 1” axle and 1-piece swing arm design that was quickly replaced with a pair of Jay Novak designed and fabricated trailing links, and a chromoly 1.25” x .250 wall axle.
The car is currently setup with a mild oversteer tendency. I find this balance much faster for autocross driving than the understeer tendency present in most F500 autocross cars. Brake bias is also fully adjustable thanks to the Wilwood master cylinder assembly with bias bar. I have the bias set more to the rear to help rotate the car through gates.
The car will be sold with its trailer and spares package, which including everything you need (except your tools) to successfully campaign the car.
Results:
• This car won the FM class at the Finger Lakes National Tour
• Paxed #5 overall at the FLR tour out of 250+ Drivers

I'm curious if this car is still available. I'm not a buyer since I picked one up a few months ago but there are a few people that I know of actively looking.

I bought that car a couple months back.
It now lives in Southern California.
This is my old car currently owned by Pat Bullis in suburban Chicago and is multi-time national trophy winner. The fresh Justice built engine has one season of auto-x and all the latest updates including pistons, alum head, and lightened flywheel.

They seem to be about on a par with Hoosiers that are past their prime based on times compared with people running that type. I bought them as an alternative to worn hoosiers and found them satisfactory for that purpose.
I bought new Hoosiers now and am using them. Not having any extra wheels these are taking up space in my garage!

Like said in the title, im looking for a bare chassis, or a full car from a Legrand mk 18 or 25. I'm planing on running in b-mod and want to build a car for to prove my capabilities as a builder/designer. If anyone has a link to a car or chassis, posting it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks to those who read this.
