Default FF 40th Group transport from Connecticut

I'm working on a 8 car transporter to go to the 40th. The truck will leave from Bethel, Connecticut. The amount of spares you take may be limited but we may reduce the amount of cars to 7 and save one space for spares. The trailer has full belly storage so there shouldn't be a problem bringing the essentials. 4 wheelers and scooters are probably not an option. I'm also thinking that if the same hotel can be coordinated, a van to go between the track and hotel would cut some cost. Coordinated flights and this could be pretty easy!

BTW: This is a non profit deal. Everything split by how many people I can put together.

    Contact me if interested.

Mike, the 40th is a ways off but I might be interested in putting the Bowman in there.

    Mike,
Maybe this could be a new thread in this section - "40th Group transportation"

Hopefully, there will be plenty of west coast guys that have similar plans.

Ed, Your right about the 40th being pretty far off but I figured that getting 8 FF guys to mind meld into one will take about 7 months so I figured I would start now and have a month to spare. I hate last minute $hit ! As of now I have 5 "maybe's"

    Think of this scenario:

Pick a time to arive in WI and everybody pile in one rental van.

Pick a hotel and maybe split some rooms.

Pick a departure time and van it back to the airport. (BTW: I have free parking at Westchester airport and could get more free spaces)

This whole deal could be done on the cheap and easy!

Mike, I am defintely interested. One RP31 , and some tubs of spares a set of rains, and a few tools. I don't have a scooter or a golf cart anyway, so that is a non issue. I do have frequent flyer miles and can get myself there for free. I like it. Deposit needed to hold my spot??

I talked to Intercity lines today who I use on a regular basis. They gave me a full truck price of $9450 round trip based on today's fuel prices. The trailer will fit (8) 12.5' formula Fords. Split the $9450 by 8 and that comes to $1181.25 per car round trip. Problem is,....spares space will be limited to what ever you can fit next to and in the car as there will be no room with all the cars nose to tail. The other option is drop down to a (7) car maximum and have one space left over for spares only. That brings the price to $1350 per car round trip.

Contact me if interested. First come, first serve on this.

Consensus is 7 cars in the trailer and one spot for spares. 3 spots are taken as of now 2/6/09. 4 spots are left as my car is staying home. I'm driving someone elses car at the 40th. It's going to be a trip down memory lane for me!
I'm setting up this transport because I started this deal when I thought I had a lock on a private hauler. That fell through so I'm seeing my commitment through and organizing this deal to get guys there that may have not gone due to the long haul. I'm making ZERO money on this. You can write your checks directly to Intercity. All I ask is that if you commit to this, that you see it through. ie; No last minute bail outs! Once I book the truck, you own your spot.
