    Default Fuel consumption at RA

Would anyone be willing to share info regarding fuel consumption at RA? I haven't gotten my fuel cell yet but I'm thinking I don't need anything larger than 3 gallons for club racing, if I can fing one that small. What was the fuel consumption for the main session on Saturday?

    Default Fuel

For a fuel injected 1000cc bike engined car, I wouldn't start a 30minute race with much less than 5 gallons.
We put 6gal in our DSR for the Runoffs.

I’m glad this question cam up, I was planning on buying a five gallon cell from Pegasus for our car. I assumed that this would be enough capacity for most SCCA events. Would this size be marginal for a F1000? And is there any difference in fuel consumption between a DSR, and a F1000?

Our fuel cell in the Phoenix F1000 car will hold 8.5 Gallons. Seems sort of large....but here's another consideration you may want to examine....weight.

In order for me to make the 1000 pound weight rule.....we need 20 pounds of lead ballast and at least 3 gallons of fuel remaining in the cell at the end of the race. At the ARRC we estimated we would use 5 gallons during the race....so we had it full at the start.

Because the fuel cell is located low and central in the car....we feel it is not such a big deal to use the larger cell and use the extra fuel as ballast.

Lee, Mat, thanks. I didn't think fuel consumption would be that high with such small bore engines. Then I thought of the revs and it made since. Ballast never entered my mind.
