    Default Trailer/Bowman stolen

Stolen week of March 22 from Orono, Ontario (50miles East of Toronto, just South of Mosport).

1998 18 foot Cargo Mate enclosed trailer. White with blue awning (no graphics). See pictures of custom interior.

1998 Bowman BC5 F2000. Original paint, graphics, unrestored.

I am not holding out much hope for the tools and trailer but possibly the car will surface again.

Yes now I am thinking along the lines of high voltage and/or firearms!

The truth is that this trailer usually sits out of sight, under cover, behind a locked gate under a watchful eye. For a short period (not short enough) I was moving the Bowman around, preparing to strip it down.

Other than a device to cover the ball reciever, Just basic locks.

Use a fence charger that runs off a 12 volt battery.

connect it up to the door knob.

Just make sure to hide an on off switch so that you can get in without getting zapped.

Alarms are great, but if only someone is around to hear them and actually reacts.

I don't know current Canadian law or even US law but when I left the Insurance industry back in 1989 after 25years as an underwriter the company lawyers were advising that any hidden booby trap device with no posted warning could leave you very liable if anyone gets inured or worse. Perhaps the many lawyers who are Apexspeed members can shed light on this but I would be very careful in our litigious society.

We have revovered (most) of our Bowman F2000 race car. i can't comment on the details as the investigation is ongoing; however, the car is now safely back in our hands.

Tony and I would like to thank all Apexspeed members for their vigilence in keeping an eye out for the car. David Clubine and Ed Callo deserve special mention for their efforts which were instrumental bringng about the Bowman's return.

Obvious and everyone agrees but every once in a while I just have to say it......"Thieves SUCK!" Glad you at least got some stuff back and I hope karma comes to the thieves.

So happy to hear that the car was recovered. When we instituted this specific forum, these were the happy endings we had in mind. Glad it all worked out.
