    Default Penske 8100 Eyelet Sweep

    Gents;

    Regarding Penske adjustable eyelets (EY81160, 1.6 sweep; EY81200, 2.00 sweep; EY81230, 2.30 sweep), what does the term 'sweep' mean, and what was the standard on the RF-94/95?

    Cannot answer your questions completely, but a sweep as I understand it , is moving the adjuster one width of its opening thereby exposing the next adjusting hole. Makes sense when your looking at it.

    I believe what the number refers to is the angle of the tip on the adjuster "needle". I think the old 8100's had a cone shaped tip with different angle options, while the newer 8760 style has a rounded dome tip.. No idea what the effect is, though :/

    Edit - nope, looking at the parts diagram, that's not what it is. I know they make and sell eyelets with different lengths, maybe that's what that is? Weird.

    I just spoke with Clayton, Senior Tech at Indy Motorsports, and here it is:
    • Adjustable eyelets are refered to as 'sweep eyelets'
    • 1.6, 2.00 and 2.30 refers to the size (length) of the eyelet.
    I also spoke with Mark, and Anita Millican has retired and moven bag and baggage to Costa Rico. Life is good.
