Default What do 2L pinto motors cost now?

What would be the estimated value on an older 2L pinto motor? Are they still worth anything in the racing community?

Let's assume it's a race prepped motor from Quicksilver. Needing a rebuild, and hasn't been updated or run in 15 years.

A lot depends on the QS# on the head. Some heads being "magic".

15 years old... Obviously it would need the new pistons, valve springs, cam and flywheel.

I'd estimate a $5k to $6k refresh cost. Also depends on the condition of the bores. If it needs sleeves, the cost climbs some more.

$1000.00 I owuld think particularly given the Frog's numbers.

Assuming that it isn't all rusted up and frozen.

+/- depending on what comes along with it.

    Eric-

I don't recall exactly. I do know it was set up for a 96VD, and it was one of Schmidt's pro motors from the USFF2000 series back then. I know it had the "expensive" oil pump arrangement on it, but that's all I know. It's been sitting under a plastic tarp in the shop for a while. I'll have to dig it out and take a look.
