    Default Nice

Now if the economy would improve and we'd see some of these cars on track, it would be even nicer.

Dammit, where's that big buck Weaver when you need him? Or if Stew started acting like a lawyer and showing off, he'd have one. Sheeeesh, what are they waiting for??? Well, I guess Shoe String Racing will just have to buy one to rent to those cheapskates.

Don't worry Ted I'll make them sit in it and then I'll do my best car salesman impression at the Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma at the end of this month! Hide your check book and credit cards I may come looking for you too!

Here are a few shots of the FormulaSPEED2.0 before it gets torn down for paint and shine for the Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma: http://www.flickr.com/photos/formula...7624676176790/

We now are over 35 entries for that race - it's going to be awesome:

    Default 2.0 Litre

Guys I appreciate what you have done to produce this car, but the
body work is just plain ugly, for this car to be anything other than a school car,
it needs a trip to the beauty shop. I wish you the best in your venture.

    Don,
I appreciate your feedback. I'm sorry that our new car doesn't appeal to you, I guess that's why Baskin and Robbins has 31 flavors. Here's a photo of the car in it's new livery.

I am just curious... why would you select this instead of an FE?

Off the top of my head reasons that I would select a FS2.0 over an FE are:

    • Parts will be less expensive
    • Less number of parts overall (about 16 less rod-ends)
    • Car is more spec (data system is not open / very few rod-ends make for less geometry variations)
    • More durable
    • Should be faster than FE
    • More HP (195 on pump gas)
    • Higher quality parts (Ohlins TTX / Hewland FTR / Billet Uprights)
    • Kevlar intrusion panels
    • 6 speed
    • Fits larger drivers
    • Current production engine (2010 forged crank MZR 2.0)
    • 'Square' engine keeps shaking to a minimum

The FE is a great car, like most modern Van Diemens. Of course like all designs, it has its strong and weak points. Obviously if running at the SCCA Runoffs is your racing goal I would steer you towards an FE over an FS2.0. (Actually if you wanted to run fast and cheap and win the SCCA Runoffs I might steer you to an FM.)

Thanks for the question Dean. I'd be happy to answer any additional ones.
