Default Daytona Gearing?

Any suggestions for Daytona gearing, or info tidbits to help me make educated guesses, such as lowest and highest speeds?

I searched, but couldn't find anything.

My Swift DB-3 has a 10:31 R&P, Club Honda Fit, and Hoosier Pro F1600 tires (22"/71"?).

TIA.

Thanks, Mikey. Yes, that helps.

Since our Atlanta Motorsports Park event was cancelled, I was looking for another interesting race to attend. I've never been to Daytona, so that's a huge hole in my racing resume. I'm not too excited about racing in FL in August, but since it's a double SARRC, that made it more inviting. Seems like not too many Daytona races have been part of the SARRC series in the past, right? That should increase entries.

Will you be there in your Crossle or Mondiale? If it's not asking too much, please share your R&P ratio.

Russ,
Make sure you add an extra 1/2 qt of gear oil to the gear box . this will keep oil on the pinion head while you are on the high banking.

Thank you, Scotty. I think I heard that suggestion in the distant pass, but had forgotten.

The tallest gear set I own is 1:1. Do you think I'll need an overdrive gear for Daytona?

I miss having wings so I could just crank up the angle when too lazy to change gears at the track. :-).

Only if you're going WAY faster than the guy with a 26:25 and a 9:31.

Thanks. I guess I should have done some math before I posted.

According to my gear spreadsheet, a 25:26 should give me a top speed of about 137 MPH. Does that sound about right, and a safe bet to go there with that top gear?

I think that's a reasonable place to start.

you might want to locate some over drive gears. depends more on how you come out of the infield and how high you twist the Honda. But if you just added more wing angle rather then changing gears, 25-26 should be fine...just add more tow out!
