    Default F1600 at WGI

The final weekend of the season sees Ayla Agren hold her slim title lead over teammate Garth Rickards. Come Sunday the 2014 title will be decided.

Augie Lerch and Jack Mitchell Jr. are also hanging around - and Jim Goughary won at the Glen in May.

The winners list this season includes: Jim Goughary, Franklin Futrelle, Mikhail Goikhberg, Brandon Newey, Steve Bamford, Ayla Agren, Augie Lerch, Jack Mitchell Jr. Sam Chastain and Evan Mehan - that's 10 drivers in 12 races - not too bad.

After a sweep at Thompson, Chastain Motorsports is adding a third car for Andy Lewis who joins Mehan and Chastain.

Finally, a use for the slang "you go, girl" without sounding like an idiot.

Talent usually ends up in front, but fun goes from the front of the grid all the way to the back.

Agren led Friday practice by .024 seconds over Rickards, and those two are 1-2 in points. Qualifying and race one today!

That having been said - (and apologies to the "Swiss Miss" who I think is a very good driver),
I have been very impressed with Ayla Agren as she moves forward in FF1600 championship series. She appears to have what it takes and a continued viewing of her development deserves watching. She is having an outstanding weekend in FF100 @ VIR and has gone well over the past two (2) years including podiums and poles and I believe a fastest lap -- I respectfully suggest a Champion in the making ....

First I picked Jeremy Grenier - then Ayla - Where is a bookie when you need one !!!

Soft and steady hands, calculating drives and speed to match - the real deal

Well done Ayla, well done !!!

Congratulations to Ayla but also to the entire Team Pelfrey organization. The group is very professional but also respectful to the class and their competitors. When yellow cars did not win, their congratulations to the winners were much more than token.

The pride and emotion shown yesterday was really cool.

Yes, congrats to Dale Pelfrey, drivers and crew; an excellent job all season. I have known Dale since I was about 13 years old when he started manufacturing the Enginetics brake system for karts in Dayton, Ohio. I put together one of Dale's first efforts in pro racing at the Indy 500 in 1998 where we ran Danny Ongais and ultimately John Paul Jr. leading 39 laps late in the race only to lose the clutch on the final stop and to finish 6th. First class all the way.
