Default Soda Cans are your friends

I've seen a rectangular cutout from a soda can silicone in place on a number of intakes.

    Default intake manifold block

Put a little filler inside the passage, then epoxy over, making sure it doesn't protrude past the surface.

    Default block the cylinder head?

Would it be better to block the passage in the cylinder head? I suspect water is leaking past the gasket. I see water from the center intake manifold bolt.

IMO, while GCR says the water passage in the intake manifold may be plugged, there is no mention that one can do the same in the head. If something isn't specifically allowed, it is usually not permitted.

    Default Fixing the leak...

Also, if it leaking around the bolt, just put some RTV on the bolt threads when you assemble the manifold to the head. IRRC, the bolt goes all the way through into the water passage, so it needs to be sealed.

I just recently discovered that Pegasus sells a specially made intake gasket without the water hole. You still need to seal the bolt threads.

    Default intake manifold

The rules at one time, required "spec" gaskets to be used and intake to head was one.
Don't know if that has changed.
