    Default VW transaxle FS

    purchased for FF project, but acquired Hewland. unsure of year, purchased off Beetle being parted, open diff, in IL 60447 $150

    Could very well be a VW gearbox, but not out of anything remotely close to FV (or FST). Might want to figure out what car that came out of (Dasher?).

    It is a Porsche 924 or 944 transaxle. They were front engine cars with a transaxle in the rear and a torque tube connecting them. It is similar to the current Corvette setup. Great for weight distribution.
