I lost the gas cap off my Lola 642E and I am having a lot of trouble identifying it.
I need another and have no idea where to start (apart from replacing the neck).
Anyone recognize this?

Looks like a radiator filler neck....get a cap and try it. If it fits swap the seal for a fuel resistant type, rip the breather guts out of it and plug any holes in the top.

Yes, looks like a 'standard' radiator cap. If the size is wrong, it might be some English sized neck.

In those days Lola used rad caps for everything - oil tanks, gas fillers, even for radiators...
Makes for a good source of instant spares if your rad cap (on the cooling system) starts leaking on the grid. Just use your oil tank cap. Or your gas filler tube cap.

Thanks for the suggestions.
It's about 1/4" bigger than the biggest rad cap I can find but it gives me another avenue to pursue.

I have found a cap that is perfect. It's from a 1960's Triumph motorcycle.
Problem solved.
I thought I would post this for the archive.
