Default Area 2 election. All formula and sr drivers must read this

    All,
We need to get out the votes for Terry Hanushuk. His competition is Mike Collins.

    Here is mikes website
    http://www.mikecollinsarea2.com/

And here is the text on the website as if this writing:

"Put a good man in charge of the Area 2 region, lets make history, change
the division and make miata racing the premier racing... Remember, if
you are not racing a SSM, SM and SM5, you are just going circles."

Check out the website. He actually has a picture of a fox in the henhouse.

Sounds like Mike really doesn't want to be elected!

Mike says this isn't actually his site. Maybe the scary thing is that it seemed perfectly plausible.

Mike was one of the main players in helping to get all open wheel except FF,CF,FV,F5 and all sports racers minus SRF ejected from the local DC Region program a few years ago. Only after hell was raised, mainly with the help of the workers, were the classes reinstated to the regional program. And that's the parts of the story no one likes to talk about when wondering why entries are down. I have drivers who will never go back because of it.

I really appreciate your support. As I have mentioned to several individuals this summer, I am running for the Area 2 Director position, not against anybody. I believe that my three decades+ of stewarding and race organizing experience make me uniquely qualified to represent Area 2 members and competitors.

Congratulations on a really great race yesterday. That finish was the most thrilling (and most heartbreaking) moment of this year's Runoffs. Here's hoping you take one step up in your next Runoffs.

I appreciate your support ... and your vote

    Will
How/when do we vote for Terry?
Around the middle of October, each member in regions of Area 2 will receive a ballot in the mail from the Club Office. To vote, you need to mark the original ballot, insert the ballot in the postage paid return envelope and mail it to the Tabulator. To be counted, the ballot must be received by 15 November 2013. There is no online voting.

In order to receive a ballot your region of record must be one of the eleven regions in Area 2 on 1 October. No photo ID required.

For anyone who doesn't know Terry personally, he's a class act and has been an advocate for open wheel and sports racing. He's one of the reasons we like to go to NJMP events as he looks for ways to reduce the hassle factor and treats everyone as a customer not a number. As Tim said make sure you vote...

For anyone interested in the source of said website. The whois lookup for the domain registration.
    http://who.godaddy.com/whoischeck.as...LLINSAREA2.COM

That may help you decide for yourself if that site belongs to Mike or someone trying to sling mud.

The issue I take with said site is that there is no verification of the address given on registration by Go Daddy. So anyone with an axe to grind could have built that web page. Believe the internet at your own peril.

Thanks for the vote of confidence ... and for racing at NJMP. We work real hard to put on a good show for the competitors in NEDiv.

Dtto. I don't usually have any interest in these balloty type things. But Terry is a class guy. Not only knowledgeable in racing matters but thoughtful and fair. And a big fan of the sport which is equally important.

Default Terry Hanushek to represnt Area 2

I wholeheartedly agree with the above two postings. In fact I drive 3 hours to NJMP to race instead of 1.5 hours to Summit Point. A number of factors play into my decision and one of them is Terry. My ballot will be sent today supporting Terry Hanushek to represent Area 2. I encourage others to do the same. Ted Simmons

I am a dual region member - one region in SEDIV and one in NEDIV - I have received a ballot for SEDIV, but not NEDIV.

Am I restricted to only vote in my Region of Record?

You only have one region of record. Dual memberships aren't recognized as such by the national office. There are, or were, a number of regions who would not allow someone with a different region of record to become a member. Your voting rights are a function of and restricted to your region of record and which area that region is in.

Peter is correct - voting is limited to your region of record. Ballots are sent to members in good standing on 1 Oct prior to the election.
