Can a Mychron 4 be used in a Vee? Never used one before but picked one up real cheap from a cart racer getting out of carts.

I think the my4 tach is for single cylinder use.
It may give a tach readout, but it will not be correct.
Of course any temp sensors should work fine.

As the mychron picks up an inductive signal off a spark plug wire the dash could care less how many cylinders the engine has (as long as the signal is only getting picked up from one plug). The Mychron4 manual states that the dash has RPM factors of x1 , x2, /2, /4.
For the VW engine picking up a signal from a plug wire you would want the X2 multiplier as the cylinder only fires every two revolutions.

Wow!
Checked it out and wanted to correct my post.
Mark beat me to it, he is correct.
Thanks
Steve
I used an Mychron 3 Kart Gold for years on my Vee. Worked great.

I am currently using a mychron 4 with the GPS antenna on my Zink CF. It is set up as a data logger. I get lap times, RPM, GPS speeds, lateral g's and track position.
I made sure I had about 8 turns of tach wire on the coil wire for the RPM signal. Works very well.

With everybody switching to computers there should be lots of gages available. I need a VDO oil pressure gage for my vintage car. Needs to be the type with the metal U-Clamp; not the new plastic screw on retainer. Probably interested in temp gage also. Thanks, Bob
Bob, are you looking for an electric or mechanical oil pressure gauge? I had both at one point but not sure which I still have. I think one of them was the type with the metal clamp thing.
I am looking for the electrical type. Thanks,
