Default 94 VD FC Coolant Capacity

I recently bought a 94 VanDiemen FC. Just flushed the entire cooling system in preparation for Winter storage.

Can someone tell me what the capacity of the cooling system complete with radiators should be?

Also, how do you check for proper fluid level during the racing season. I have always had a swirl pot or other such container to check the fluid levels on my earlier cars. Do you just fill it up and let it empty into the catch can? That is what I've been doing, but I'm sure there must be a better way???

Thanks in advance for your help.

The fill neck on those cars sucks. I made a swirl pot with the cap on top. Capacity is around 2wo gallons, and it can be tedious to get all the air out. It's a good idea to have bleeds off the top of the radiators to the fill neck.

the stock neck will allow almost no expansion when you have a water level you can see, so the cap will almost certainly vent when hot.
