Default 1986 Red Devil Autocross car

Selling my 1986 Red Devil Formula 440 race car. This was Jeff Colegrove's car before prior to the 2011 season. I raced it all during the 2011 season and had fun with it. Now wanting to downsize my needed space for a race vehicle and so Im looking for another street car or shifter kart to autocross. Car comes with a great trailer with a tire rack, brakes, and a winch. If you do not want the trailer, we can work a price that does not include the trailer. $2000 for everything or best offer. Car comes with everything you need to get started, including 3 sets of Hoosier racing slicks, 2 of those sets with very little usage on them. Engine was freshened towards the end of the 2010 season, and I ran a light season in 2011, so low hours on the engine since its last rebuild.

    • This car won the FM class at the Finger Lakes National Tour 2010
    • Paxed #5 overall at the FLR tour out of 250+ Drivers 2010
    • RPT rank of 16 at the Toledo Pro out of 245+ Drivers,
    • in 2010 (in the hands of a better driver lol), the car did not pax lower than 3rd in any FLR regional event, including two top paxes along with one top pax from the Glen region.

I'm pretty sure it was between $600-700 for me to ship it out there, plus materials to build a crate.

Freightcenter.com is a good place to look, just make sure you're quoting with the appropriate freight code.

I'm looking to get into this sport by building an F600 car. Would this be an appropriate chassis to begin with?

Why is the wheelbase so short?

Also, I am really only interested in road racing, and not much auto-x, if any.

This would not work for your RR project. You need a more recent car (about 1990 and later). There were several changes made over the years - 1987, longer wheelbase to 80" and 1990's (?), bigger size main hoops come to mind. The earlier cars became good autox cars without any changes.
