This is a very special car. It is one of one and raced by the builder one time only at PIR. He was lapping the field when he had contact with one of the lapped cars and did not drive it again. He was into innovative design and less enamored of the driving. The car is 100% legal but designed and built like no other Formula Vee ever built. I did some restoration work on this car for Gary and can tell you that it is a very special car and should be exceptionally fast in Vintage Vee competition.

I should have mentioned that the chassis meets every part of the 1972 SCCA GCR. In the pictures one missing part is a small body extension that is needed to meet the requirement for length of the body behind the rear axle (that part is included with the car). The car designer specifically designed the car to be innovative but meet every single requirement of the GCR. This car would be legal with any vintage race organization in the country.

One other interesting feature on this car is it has a differential gear Z bar that runs under the chassis. This allows the exact mechanical advantage on both the left and right sides of the car.

Any pictures with the body off? Or is this the world's only monocoque FV?

Funny that you asked. I got other requests for pictures with the body off. The short answer is that it is a tube frame construction as required by the rules. All the aluminum, except the cockpit bottom is fastened with Camloc quarter turn fasteners and are not structural. I will see if Gary will get some shots with the body off to show the frame and engine installation.

That's certainly a 'sharp' looking car!

I love seeing all these one off FV designs, really cool.

Attached are additional pictures of this unique car. One interesting thing of note on this car is that if you look at the engine on the right hand side the top frame tubes can be unbolted and the engine can be removed out the right hand side with the trans and trailing arms still in place. Kind of cool for working on the car.
