Default New Car. Speads RM02. Northeast.

My car finally arrived. Speads RM02.
So far so good besides few minor things which I will fix for now before I rebuild the entire car to perfection this winter.

Few things I do not know:
1. Which exact fasteners are the best for clipping body panels together? The current bolts just seem outright wrong.
2. My AIM dashboard does not show the gear selection. What parts am I missing exactly and does anyone have them for sale? I'll try to get it from AIM, but if anyone has them let me know.

I have to "walk" through all the parts of the car in order to understand it better, but so far it seems simpler than my Spec Miata.

Welcome fellow Speads driver!

I had the exact same questions when I first purchased my Speads RM02A.

For your gearshift indicator, you more than likely just need a patch cable to run from your AIM to the pink wire on the transmission. Depending on what wire harness you have, you may need to solder in a 1k ohm resister. Contact Veracity Racing Data (805) 238 1699. They can set you up with what you need and offer further assistance.

The factory body fastener suck!!!!! We have found a few other fasteners to use but due to the time it will take to convert, we wont be doing this until winter.

Rilltech (303) 776 8855 is also another good source for parts and advise for anything Sepads. Talk to Richard.

Welcome to the class. My brother Pete and I race Stohr F1000's at NJMP.

Any chance you are entering the SCCA Regional this weekend?

We'd be glad to help run your car.

Apologies for the thread digression...I shouldn't tell anyone what to do with their car and taste is wholly subjective, but lose the Ferrari theme...pretty lame...nice car though...comparitively your SM will be like racing a baby carriage...have fun!!!

Ivin, that is a very nice proposition, but I will not make it this weekend. I don't mind coming to the track with you later on. I still need to buy a trailer for that car.

Grant, I will try to do what you suggested. Btw, I think I saw your video on YouTube the first time you were on track. Looked good.

Geez Aaron, are you going to tell him his baby is ugly, too?

Good luck and enjoy the car.

I don't know Barry...he didn't post a picture of the child...

The ultra-cliche formula car homage to Ferrari and Schumacher screams country-club lapping day to me and what racer really wants to project that image?...I did say the car itself looked nice though

Ferrari theme looks good to me.
As long as the driver in it doesn't put it to shame ,more power to him.
If you like it keep it ,just remember to drive REAL fast.
Great looking car ,i almost bought very similar looking one.
Cheers.

As for the body fasteners.....go for the best.

www.skybolt.com

Highly recommend the SKEJ-50A fastener. It's a Zloc Racing Ejector Fastener

Price is $4.70 each and this fastener is high quality.

They might seem expensive but what isn't when it comes to racing and F1000.

Welcome to the class- you´re going to love it.

Gotta truck and a trailor for sale. Not exactly new, but you can´t beat the price.

Default Try Full Bore Race Products

My Stohr F1000 is equipped with the Hex Head Super Buttons from Full Bore Race Products.

The Hex head retains the tool nicely, so you are less apt to scratch your bodywork.

You are going to love your F1000!

Default Ferrari

Maris,
I like ferraris but I wouldn't put a sticker of one on my Porsche. Be proud of what you drive. The paint job and other stickers are fine though I wouldn't advertise Marlboro or Shell unless they were paying me. I wish him well

Thanks for those suggestions. I do like those SKEJ-50As, and those super buttons seem cool. Knowing myself, in the winter I will rebuild the entire car.
