Default DUFFUS Update #2 - sort of

    Hi,

It is time to ask you for some additional input. It appears as though a lot of people really like the idea of the Mid Ohio weekend which has DUFFUS running as a support race to the Formula Promotions all "purpose built" race weekend.

If it could be arranged, how would feel about running a second event with Formula Promotions? Please let us know.

    Thanks,

    Joe Marcinski

Default DUFFUS 2014 Update #2 - sort of

Not at this time Jim. Or rather, Watkins Glen is not the track we have in mind for this question. That is not to say that the Glen will not wind up being one of the DUFFUS events.

The event we have in mind is the pro race weekend at Pittsburgh International Raceway in mid-August. This was the "middle" race in terms of distance in our original premise. It works well for our time line as it is 6 weeks after the Mid Ohio race.

It works well for our friends in the Great Lakes as it is about halfway to the East Coast. It works well for Formula Promotions as the Atlantic series is not going to be running at PIR that weekend and we would really help fill out the card.

I must say that the way in which this is developing is extraordinary. We are only six weeks since the Summit Point Formula Fest. We have one event already scheduled at one of the tracks we had hoped to race at. We have an opportunity to go race at a another track that was on our original wish list.

We four DUFFI had hoped that there were more drivers like us who would perhaps find a few very well attended events a bit more appealing than 8 or 10 weekends where we would most likely only have a handful of us to run with. This does not mean that we are not going to do any other racing, but these are the races that appear first on my list of races for next season. There are others that I want to do, but if we can have the turnout that it looks like we may get; it will be worth missing a few of the more traditional local events that I have been racing at for the past few years.

So, what do you say? Shall we make Pittsburgh International Raceway in August our second (by count, not by calendar) DUFFUS race? It would be really be helpful to hear from as many of our fellow drivers as is possible.

    Thanks,

    Joe Marcinski

Definite possibility. Would be convenient as I'll be there for F2000 anyway. Would F1600, F2000, and DUFFUS run back to back to back, or have sort of broken up schedules? Would help those of us participating in F1600 and/or F2000.

Default DUFFUS 2014 Update #2 - sort of

    Hi Will,

It is kind of early for specific daily schedules to have been made up yet, but remember that we want Mike to race with DUFFUS and he wants to race with DUFFUS. I am sure the weekend schedules will be amenable to this.

    Thanks,

As long as plans to not change with the car and funds hold up. I will go to all of the events.

Anything that you run with Rand's group I will support. If we could attach ourselves to several of the Pro Series events, even better.

Default Likely Wyvern at #2 as well

If the race is moved to the first weekend of August ( per F1600series.com) then I am in.

The original date on the 15th would have been a real issue for me at home

    Cheers

    Default DUFFUS Update #2

    Hi,

We are very pleased to announce that we now have a second DUFFUS race weekend scheduled. We are again going to be on the card as a support event for the Pro F1600/F2000 program at Pittsburgh International Raceway on August 1, 2 & 3. Our thanks goes out again to Mike Rand for his interest and help in getting this arranged.

Running with FRP does impose some additional tasks on the DUFFI, but we will get those worked out and will be updating you on things such as registration, tech, car numbers, etc. in coming announcements.

We now have one more event to get scheduled and then we will start buttoning up all the details. Thank you all again for your input and support and we hope that you will all decide to come and join us.
