The F1600 Championship Series moves to NJMP June 28th. The 1600 folks will be part of a three class pro formula race weekend, the largest ever attempted by Rand and Company.
Looking at the website this morning i see that Monty (one man PR force) has posted the provisional entry of 23 cars. Obviously an international field, with Shae Davies from Australia, Matias Koykka from Finland, Robert Lorena from Brasil, Garett Grist from Canada, and Sean Maisey from Lanexa.
I lost count somewhere around eight different chassis entered. Davies will debut the second Spectrum into the US entered by Cape Motorsports. Steve Roux has entered a Wyvern (?)
It will be out first time running F1600 at NJMP. I'm expecting to see a lot of gear swapping as the engineers try to figure out the best combination.
If you have dining recommendations for the Millville area, please post.
Only two entertainment options have been scheduled so far:
1. Eric Langbien running around trying to engineer a handful of cars in multiple run groups.
2. The Atlantic Summit Meeting at 5:00pm Saturday afternoon.
A few days ago Rand emailed all entrants. We will be paddocked on grass, so bring whatever provisions you may need.
Some photos from today. It is so hot that the heat waves off the ground are actually distorting our photos. Top that off with the fact that the track is unbelievably difficult to work with and it's a photographer's worst nightmare
You can see all the heat waves here. This is one of the better shots we got head on all day. All the heat between the lens and the car is jacking up the images.
Q1: Spectrums are 1-2, Koyyka ahead of Davies, followed by Greist and Lorena.
There is no power at the track nor in the surrounding areas, so the gas pumps are not working and the stations in town are not working either. They are trying to figure out how the teams will get fuel.

Just when you think you have it all figured out....
Davies was participating in his first ever rolling start. Then in T1 he drove off wide, fell back to like 7th, then came through to win. Nice rookie race.

Depends how loose fitting it is (and that looks loose fitting.) Black actually blocks a significant portion of both UV and IR from getting to the skin. If there's enough air between the shirt and skin it's actually cooler. It's works better in low humidity, but it does work.
