    Default Let the rumors begin...

Any empty trailer space traveling from Denver to Atlanta (or Florida) in the near future? King-o-Cheap is willing to pay $500 +/- towards fuel.

Our beloved Kermit (Tatuus) was somewhat rebuildable, but at a cost far exceeding it's value. The juice just would not have been worth the squeeze. We were able to sell it for salvage for about $5.00 per lb.

Debated heavily staying out while I was ahead. Lost the debate.

Default Back in the saddle!-- Hooray

Since this is posted in the FC 'wanted', we can probably assume that it is not a CF, FF, FSCCA, FA...

So, what kinds of FC are out there that were for sale recently?

quick search of apex classifieds found 2 candidates:

95 Van diemen that sold a back in aug/sept and an 89 swift that sold in that same time frame, but stayed in denver area.

    Quotes:
    "1989 Swift SE-3
1989 Swift SE-3 professionaly maintained, LD-200, Bradford Precision engine, won 2003 Club Continental class in Rocky Mountain, includes seveal gear sets, 10 wheels, various rockers, suspension arms, many other good pieces, etc. asking $9,800.00. Picture attached. Contact Chris @ 303.940.1500 or email chris@surfaceexploration.com"

    second follow-up post:

"Actually it is staying hear in the Denver area."

So maybe the swift is coming to a warmer climate??

FS seems like the place to be in 2006. Everytime Sean trys to lap me, I'm putting his shiny blue butt in the grass. Ahhhh, the joys of regional racing. Back to hanging with the homeboys.

At least until the national at Road Atlanta... then maybe change the "S" to "C".

Racing is like drugs - once you are addicted, it's almost impossible to quit!

So, what is it? From your comment above (changing the "S" to "C" for Road Atlanta) it sounds like another FC.

    Default my guess....

My bet would be that some over the top Denver Bronco's fan probably painted his car Purple. Froggy may have even overlooked what brand of machine it is and was drawn towards its vortex of purpleness.

Been lots for sale out here in Denver, several late model VD's, a Tatuus, a Zetec, heck even T. Beck's "slightly used FSCCA car. Lots of suspense!

My guess is, some sort of 88-89ish La Reynard FC car... -Dave

P.S. Also wondering if a new name will assigned to the car or a roman numeral(Kermit II)?

Joe, I tried emailing you first thing. No response.

Do we have the right email address in your profile?

    Names:
'75 Eakin Special was named Cockroach
'84 Reynard was Jeremiah (he was a good friend of mine...)
'88 Reynard was Buford (for BeUtiful FORD, nice Southern name)
    '98 Tatuus was Kermit
    Next?

    Speady. Nah...

    Me leave FC? Sacrilege!

But remember, I am the King-o-Cheap. Think inexpensive. Has to be a National class... how else could I ever get a chance to leave grid again behind Dave.

If it's the yellow Reynard at a certain Mazda dealer in Denver, I looked at it over New Years. Looked like a nice car but I decided to stay with the mid 90's V.D.

    Old habits hard to break!

Bill should write for CSI Panacea.

KEA had way too much info. He knew the "plan".

'89 Reynard. Name to be determined.

After driving a more modern car, and definitely one that was a very safe car, it was hard to go 'backwards'. But with the budget we have left since the Runoffs, it was either that or be a spectator.

It should keep me active. We have lots of great friends at the regional level. So we can go back to the smaller pond and party. plus there should be a few 95 and earlier VDs to beat up on...

Won't hurt CFC numbers in SEDIV to go out and play.

Chuck Moran is my hero. Maybe I'll run nationals.
I have to say, not running nationals does bother me a bit. Last year really spoiled us. The national 'scene' was real. Class guys all around.

The car is currently yellow with red trim. Number 67 is available in the SEDIV... Maybe I could be the designated blocker for Team Weitzenhof at HPT.

    Joe, sent you another email.

    Default Welcome back Purple!

PF, We're glad to have you back even if it's not exactly what you might have wanted.
Maybe that will get Mark H back to CFC as well. There goes all that good 89 Reynard info I was getting though.

A friend talked to someone out in CO about an 89 Reynard & the owner said that the engine had 2.3L rods. Will that work--can you do that? Same car?

Anyway, good luck with your new toy,

DaveK, As always, if I know it, or think I know it, and you need it, I'll tell you. Except maybe the morning of the ARRC.

About those rods. I think they should be legal, and have written the comp board a few times, in vain attempts to get them legal. Unfortunately, they have not been made legal. But, I still own my very legal Runoffs motor, so that will be my powerplant. I'll refresh the other and probably put which ever dynos the least on the market. If I run the long rods I'll run in FS, which will not help the CFC numbers.

Joe, shot you an email with phone numbers.

Mike, I think I have a set of the old original OE good (before the Ford rods became crappy) rods lying around. If I have them, and you want them, you can have them for the shipping cost.

Let me know and I'll look for them.

PF, don't run FS on my account--you'll beat me in any case. I figured your runoffs motor would be better anyway--but what do I know. Hell, I told my friend that the 2.3's might be OK since the guy was running CFC out west...

Looking forward to seeing you back at the track.

Racer Dave: point of interest "out west' in the Rocky Mountain Region, the CFC class specs are identical to FC, just 95's and older for year of manufacture. Same engines, tires, tranny, etc. There was talk of a spec tire for a while but that was squashed quickly

In eight years and four cars and five paint schemes, only one car was actually purple. Most just had some sort of purple trim. We'll figure out something. Yellow is a good thing. Many of my heros drive yellow cars. Figure to see a large order of purple vinyl arriving at the shop soon. Being scene on the track has never been one of our shortfalls, being seen in the lead has been rare.
