Default Which head for 2.0L air cooled FSV?

So....Should I run the "fly cut" 1.7/1.8 VW head, the 2.0 "bus" head, (4 intake manifold studs), or the 914 Porsche head, (3 intake manifold studs)?

Having run Porsche 914's for a number of years the 914 head, out of the box always performed best. Not just flow, but also for heat dissipation and lower rate of cracking. Unfortunately these heads are becoming more difficult, and expensive, to find. If you have a good set, go with it. Would also recommend talking to Curtis at RFD and see if he thinks he can make the bus head flow as well. In the long run that may be a less expensive solution.

I never saw any comprehensive rules for including the 2.0L for winged air cooled cars, other than allowing up to 2L displacement, I kind of assumed all the othere rules remained the same. The original engines used the 1.8 heads, which I believe had the biggest valves at the time. The book "How to build your air-cooled VW" has a comprehensive section on the characteristics of all the heads.
