    Default Piston Weight

When the scca approved the new pistons they were already close to min. weight (525). So they gave us another 10 grams off to 515 and .030" off the bowl depth. This allows for light machining and .050" valve pocketing to achieve the proper C.C's for compression on engines that don't have enough deck hieght. The new rule is in the March Fastrack. Thanks Jay

    Default Piston pin minimum weight

Jay, Is there a minimum weight for the piston pin in an uprated engine?

Looking at the online GCR, a minimum weight (115g +/-2) is only listed for the standard engine. Elsewere in the piston section where both engines had the same spec it was listed under both headings

The pins are interchangeable and have always been 115+-2. You need to use the standard pin in the new pistons to maintain the weight. Jay
