Default Hewland MK. 9 bearing carrier & end cover gaskets work?

Hey there, ApedSpeed community. Back in 2022, a post from OldSchoolModelworks revealed the company’s offering of thin reinforced paper gaskets for the mating surfaces of a Hewland Mk. 9 transmission bearing carrier and the end cover. Have any of you good folks tried one of these gasket sets and if so, did the gaskets work? I’m not so concerned about re-use capability; more concerned with the gaskets’ ability to keep my transmission fluid in the casing as opposed to using Hylomar on the mating surfaces. Thoughts/experience? Thanks! — Michael

Yes, they work well. Way, way easier that anything I've ever done in the past.
No cleaning off Hylomar any longer and saves about 10 minutes on a gear change.

Thanks for weighing in, SteveG. Think I will give a set a try.

Do you have a link to the source. I want to get another set and I can't find the info.

Default Link for purchasing the Hewland gaskets

Hey there, s800racer. Thanks for your endorsement too. I ordered mine here: http://www.oldschoolmodels.com/index.htm. And I received a prompt response from the company with tracking information this morning after placing my order Sunday evening.

    Default Gaskets

We had them do FT/FG as well and they work really well. Bearing carrier/rear housing and shift finger housing.
Using them on old F2 and 2 liter sports cars with less than perfect surfaces after 40 years with just a smear of hylomar.
