    Default Wanted: Autocross - Open Wheel Car

    Looking for an open wheel AX car. Open to any options, but would really like a solo Vee, Formula Ford, or similar. F500 could be OK too. Have cash in hand and ready to buy.

    If you're looking for the ultimate in cars of this type, there are a few machines available right now that can compete successfully in BMOD, but are not "open wheel" Fair bit more of your ca$h than the above, but you'll never get in anything with more pure performance than a BM car!

    I have a cool Formula VW based Autocross, Hillclimb/track day Sports Racer in Sac/Northern California if you are interested. Sports racer with Air cooled VW engine. 4 speed trans. Basically a large Formula Vee with a stainless Steel Formula sports racer body and Modified late model VW front suspension, and a 2000cc Type 4 VW air cooled motor. Built to run the West Coast autox/hillclimb events as an A Sports Racer. Quick car at 850 lbs.

    My OMS A/B Mod car is for sale I am in Michigan

    OMS Racing A/B Mod Autocross Car for Sale
    1998 OMS Racing Chassis No 68 Built in England by OMS Racing (made over 200 cars and still in business) for UK hillclimb.
    Space frame steel tubular chassis with glass fiber bodywork.
    Suspension is pushrod front suspension and pullrod rear. AVO dampers. Does not have anti roll bars.
    Brembo radial brake calipers front and rear. Braided brake lines the full length of the car.
    Quaife Rear Limited Slip Diff Chain Driven from the bikes gearbox sprocket with 530 chain.
    2007 Kawasaki ZX10R Engine with Billet Aluminum Wet Sump Oil Pan, Billet oil pick up and aluminum surge baffle plate. Engine has 17125 Miles with good compression and oil pressure. No issues starts first time does not use oil. Rated around 180HP.
    15 / 48 sprockets on the car. Considerably lower gearing than the bike would have and smaller diameter wheels.
    Uses the bike ECU / voltage regulator harness, sensors and dash.
    Sequential 6 speed transmission with mechanical paddle shift (cable and rod operated)
    Shift Power Full Race Quickshifter with Launch Control and Pit Lane Speed Limiter
    K&N Air Filter and 4 into 1 Exhaust easily passes the 100 db noise limit
    Kawasaki gear driven water pump and a single Ron Davis race radiator with automatic fan.
    1 gallon gas tank with electric race pump and pressure regulator wired to the bike ECU. (can do 5 autocross runs on less than one gallon).
    Momo 10 inch steering wheel with quick release boss.
    Keizer Racing 3 piece wheels 8x13 front and 10x13 rear with Avon Slicks
    Panasport aluminum wheels 6x13 front and 8x13 rear with Hoosier Full Wets
    Aluminum front wings and carbon rear wing.
    Flat floor with diffuser at rear in glass fiber.
    6 point 3 inch harness (2020) date not checked for autocross.
    Car has a SCCA log book was homologated for Formula 1000 / FB (log book is not required for Autocross which is all i have used it for). Had a different wings and fuel tank at the time it was issued the log book.
    Last time i put the car on scales it was 792 lbs without driver.
    A Mod is 900lbs min w driver
    B Mod is 1020 lbs min w driver
    I am 5 11 and 180lbs and it is a good fit for me - much wider might be a struggle
    I have run it in A Mod as i did not ballast the car up to the weight limit for B mod.
