Default REDUCED: Hewland Mk. 9 LOW Gears

We saved the best for last - - two "stump-pullers" we used for a short time when running our Reynard F-2000 in Solo events and time-trials.

If you participate in Solo I , Solo II , Hillclimbs, or Time-Trials, you already know how vital the START can be. And . . .

If you have a Hewland Mark 9 4-speed transaxle, either one of these will turn your FF, FC, of F?? into an absolute ROCKET off the start line!

CHOICE 1: A genuine Hewland 14::36 ratio that simply replaces the current lowest gear in the transaxle. ( This assumes that you are currently using a low "road course gear", like a 18::33 or a 20::31 .)

CHOICE 2: A genuine Hewland 14::36 ratio Fixed Gear and Lay Shaft, that not only replaces the current low gear, but also provides a like-new, integral lay shaft for your gearbox.

In each case, we simply "moved" each of the other gears "up" numerically. The 14:: 36 became our new 1st gear; The previous low gear (18::33) became our new 2nd gear. Our previous 2nd gear (21::31) became our new 3rd gear, ETC.

Pegasus sells the new single 14::36 ratio for $459.00 . Ours is used, but in FINE condition. Previously $ 175.00 - - now asking $150..

Pegasus sells the new 14::36 Fixed Gear and Lay Shaft for $1759.00. Ours is LIKE NEW. Previously $ 550.00 - now asking $500.

These may be picked up in Rochester, NY, at any time. They may also be shipped at buyer's expense. Please make initial contact with Ed by private message here on the Apex Forum.

Default BUMP - and Thank You!

Thank you gentlemen and APEX SPEED , for helping us move so many racing items on to their new owners, and allowing the equipment to continue serving fellow racers!

These Hewland Mk 9 low-low gears are the last of the bunch. If you run Solo, Hillclimb, or Time-Trial events with a formula car or sports racer, they can transform your standing starts from fast-off-the-line, to BLINDING!

    Happy Holidays!

Default At Watkins Glen this weekend (Sept 22 - 24)

Naturally, I realize that these ratios are useful only for standing starts - - Hillclimb, Solo I, Solo II, and autocross - - none of which will be occurring at The Glen this coming weekend.

However, if any of those forms of competition are in your car's future, these gears will provide THE BEST out-of-the-gate launches money can buy (while saving your clutch tremendous strain and wear from slippage.)

Always happy to answer any questions. Thanks,
    Ed
