    Default RF97 1600 Van Diemen

    Chassis RF97-2-2364
I have decided to put my RF97 Van Diemen 1600 up for sale. I am privoting to a more vintage era of the class. This chassis was originally campaigned by DSTP in the USF2000 Championship, then by Guy Cosmo to his 1999 USF2000 ACC Championship.
The car was acquired in 2016 in boxes from Eric Langbein. At that point, it was converted to accept the Kent 1600 engine from a 2 liter. A complete frame up rebuild was performed. Every part of the car was rebuilt, crack checked and or replaced. A new stainless floor pan was bonded and cherry riveted on. The suspension was converted to the later wide track configuration. A new ATL Fuel Cell was installed in Aug 2021. The LD200 has a fresh 13:36 ring and pinion. The dampers are TT44 Ohlins. All new Aurora rod ends, all new AN hardware. 2 new sets of O-Z wheels. The harness's are Safecraft (good through the end of 2023) And can be re-webbed by Safecraft in Chicago. And the fire system is also Safecraft and up to date.

The car has been run at a few test days and an HSR events since rebuild was complete. It still has very low hours on everything. I am open to doing some horse trading for certain vintage Formula Fords. Crossle 20, 32, 35, 40, 45's or 1979-81 Van Diemen's. As rollers or with ford power. No Honda's please. Projects or complete.

Car will be sold as a roller but including the header and exhaust, starter motor, and all 1600 plumbing. A fresh RB Motorsports Engineering, (Wayne Brown) 1600 is available for additional cost. Feel free to reach out with any questions. Additional photos are available upon request. The car is located in Atlanta, Georgia. Asking $ 24.5k OBO with all spares and or trade for earlier FF.
