    Default 2.0 Ford motor parts

Can anyone recommend a good source for 2L motor parts? Mainly water pump, seals / gaskets, crank bearings.
Surprised how hard a water pump is to find for a Pinto motor... 1996 VD F/C Thanks

Pegasus appears to have everything except the water pump. Rebuilt water pumps are available from Rock Auto, O'Reilly's etc. You could also contact any of the known engine builders, Elite, Ivey, Quicksilver, Butler etc.

They do seem scarce from racing suppliers....

You'll have to plug the heater port and replace the pulley mount with a pulley.

    Rock Auto: 1974 Ford Pinto 2.0L 122cid L4

I know of 4 engines that ran the GMB model with no problems. Be cautious taking off the stock pulley mount and pressing your splined pulley on.

+1 GMB. Add 3 more race engines to the total.

It is worth noting that the shape of the impeller is different - more of a fan blade looking thingy rather that the FoMoCo original. The GMB pump body is aluminum, which is a little lighter and the impeller is zinc plated steel rather than cast iron, but works fine.

Good comment about swapping pulleys- the usual care should be taken removing & installing. You could send it to your engine builder to do the change if you are building fresh, but it is not that difficult to do.

you can send your old pump housing to Racemate in San Diego and they'll put in one of their zoomy CNC impellers.
