check out the type of trailer towed behind the trucks of small businesses that mow lawns. So....go talk to the shops/guys that sell the mowers to such workers......they'll know who might have one for you

A 6x12' tilt bed or flat bed trailer works great. Single axle for a formula car or sports racer is adequate. Something like these.

Expect to replace the tires, service the bearings and possibly replace the boards on the deck for used ones. Save lots of money for a little diy.

As Dan says, find a light duty general purpose trailer, and avoid car hauler trailers (that weigh 3X what your race car weighs, and are designed for moving proper cars and trucks). Keep an eye out for purpose built formula car trailers. My best trailers were literally two 10' steel ramps with a solid axle welded underneath and a hitch welded on a tongue at the front.

few thoughts on small open trailers based on our early years experience:

you need to load the car on backwards to get tongue weight acceptable for towing dynamics

some formula car bodywork doesn't tolerate having wind blown into it from behind

Did it start off as an open wheel boat trailer looking thing? Have any pictures of it?

A spin at 100mph will also let you know if your rear bodywork doesn't tolerate wind blown into it from behind....
